driveway project
langland - swansea
The client had turned this house into a set of flats, and there was insufficient parking space.
In front of the house there was a large, sloping, unused garden which required ongoing maintenance
First, we secured the area safely with fencing, as per health and safety standards.
Next we cleared the garden of trees and shrubbery. We excavated the ground, and isolated the services. We did this process with the original wall standing, to stop the mess spilling onto the road
We then demolished the wall, and stored the stones at a nearby farm.
These stones had come from a local historical quarry, and our client wanted to re-use them.
Next, we built the steel-reinforced walls, as designed by a structural engineer.
The stones were returned to site and we built the walls.
We made the client a nice flat, usable garden, and seeded the soil with grass. This makes for a better lawn than turf.
The subbase was compacted...
...and finally, we got to work laying the paving.
